Information
the sionyx aurora black is the first night vision camera in the market that allows you to see vivid daylight colours at night. the aurora black has been developed as a low-cost tactical night scope, with full-colour night vision and unrivalled light output. it is the first model in the aurora series to be certified for hard shocks and recoils.
the aurora black is capable of displaying images in color during the day, at dusk and at night. this is projected on a full-color oled display. in addition, colour night vision gives a much more natural reproduction, because this is what the same environment looks like during the day. this completely changes your viewing experience compared to classic night vision in navy green or black and white.
you can also select to project the surroundings in a grey scale. this allows you to create an even higher contrast, for example to be able to read texts. the camera has an optical 0.5x magnification, which you can enlarge up to 3x using a digital zoom. the standard 0.5x magnification ensures that you see a larger part of the environment and actually 'zoom out'.
photo and video's to your preference
the camera allows you to take shots according to your own preferences. for example, you can set the shutter speed for photos - from 1.5s to 1/8000s - but also the frame rate of videos up to 60fps for hd recordings. you can also select multiple recording modes, such as hdr, self-timer, time-lapse, panorama and burst mode. the built-in eis (electronic image stabilization) compensates for camera shake and corrects blur. you can save your recordings to the included 32gb microsd card.
streaming and remote control
all sionyx cameras can be connected to an apple or android device (phone and tablet) via wi-fi. as soon as you have the free sionyx aurora app, you can remotely control the nightvision camera, stream images live and make/share recordings. if you want to control sionyx remotely you can place it on any conventional tripod via the 1/4" thread connection (see optional accessories).
application sionyx aurora black
the aurora black is mainly suitable for the semi-professional user who wants to switch quickly between night vision and their own vision. this makes the camera extremely suitable as an accessory for airsoft, hunting or nature observations, for example. you can use the camera in your hand or attach it to a helmet or goggle kit, but you can also operate it remotely and stream images live to your smartphone or tablet. you can use the camera in any situation where a certain kind of residual light is present. at night this only needs to be a minimal form of moonlight. if you always want to be able to see, even when there is no residual light, an infrared illuminator is optionally available. during daytime and twilight you can use the supporting scene modes. since the camera is also certified for recoils, you can also attach the aurora black to a weapon (via optional picatinny rail mount).
other highlights
- certified for recoils of 6000 joules (.223/5.56)
- ip67 certified (submersible)
how do the internal components work?
by means of patented ultra low-light sensor technology, the cmos sensor is able to process the environment at night in colour. the aurora's can 'see' on infrared wavelengths of more than 1100nm. with this technology sionyx distinguishes itself from all other digital and analogue night vision devices in the market. these components also provide unmatched light output, making an infrared illuminator no longer necessary.
